Benefits for Suppliers

  • Assured market: OMCs are committed to procuring ethanol from suppliers to meet their blending targets. This gives ethanol suppliers an assured market for their product.
  • Fair price: OMCs purchase ethanol from suppliers at a fair price that is linked to the market price of sugarcane. This ensures that ethanol suppliers are able to make a profit on their investment.
  • Contribution to national energy security: Ethanol blending helps to reduce India's dependence on imported oil. By producing ethanol for OMCs, ethanol suppliers are playing a role in improving India's energy security.
